Who am I?
Beneath the sea surface, lies my sweet home,
Soothed with pleasing sounds of dancing waves,
Bright sand and serene sea is where I roam.
I am small, slow and rare, but I’m brave!
With no teeth, I’m a fish looking equine
I’m a male but bear my young till they’re born
Others swim, me? – I fly with wings on my spine
I’m monogamous, to love and be adorned.
I’m insatiable, despite I’m tiny
I eat three thousand shrimps everyday
I use my long snout to graze constantly
For I would die starving, needless to say
Worldwide, over thirty five kinds of me,
Creatures that make homes beneath the sea
