FARMING RICE WITH WATER,
WAR WAGED WITH FOOD/RICE
Well, this expression, in my view, it is asking for a strategic planning according to what is being planned whether it is for “Farming, or Waging War” given that there are significant elements inter-related to both survivability and/or favorable outcomes/success.
“Rice Farming”.
In Cambodia , main source of daily nutritional food is rice. However, people don’t eat rice alone. Cooked rice serves as a main food, normally served along with other nutrients and/or vegetables such as meats, fish, seafood and so forth. But the question is “How is rice coming to our plates” ? This question is similar to the Western countries people who may ask “ How the potatoes” are becoming mashed potato or fried on our plate, and such, also.
Rice is a kind of seed that needs “Water” to survive and to produce grains. There are more than one way to grow rice. But I’ll address only to what’s pertinent to this Expression – Farming Rice with Water.
The Strategic Planning is being called upon by this expression – Knowing where and/or how to sustain the viability of what’s being grown/planned is the key—Water/Key Elements. If there is none, it wouldn’t be a viable plan to pursue! Or, simply put, “Alter Your Course – Plan according to what is feasible!”. Or, use our head, not our heart..! Without water, There shouldn’t be any farming because the water is the primary factor to successful “Farming”! – A Vital Ingredient that can not do without!!!
Executing a Plan and/or a Decision only when all crucial parts/essential factors are in place, ensuring success!
The second part of this expression is similar, so there is no need to articulate it any further.
